Society Hill Volunteer Organizations

Here are several of the organizations who raise funds for programs that benefit the residents and some of the historic sites of Society Hill:

The Independence Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia is supported by the Friends of the Independence Branch of the Free Library. For more information send an email to

Penn’s Village is an organization of central Philadelphia residents who work together to support our neighbors who wish to remain in their own homes as they age or have special needs.

Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks  raises funds for the upkeep of landmark buildings, two of which are located in Society Hill — the Powel House and the Physick House — and are open to the public.

Three Bears Park, also known as Delancey Park, raises funds for the upkeep of this small urban park and playground.

Friends of Independence National Historic Park is a non-profit that supports Independence National Historical Park.
