The Society Hill Civic Association (SHCA) engaged Howard Stein Hudson (HSH) to conduct a Complete Streets Study of Spruce and Pine Streets from Front to 8th Street. Conducted between October 2017 and February 2018, the study reviewed existing policies, plans, and conditions, including demographics, traffic counts, and crash data. Using a Complete Streets framework, the report documents findings and outlines recommendations for potential improvements in coordination with the City of Philadelphia, SEPTA, and the community. This remains the most comprehensive assessment of the Spruce and Pine corridors to date, with no subsequent studies undertaken.
