New Concept Design for Foglietta Plaza

Introduced by Mary Purcell, Director of SHCA, and led by Michael Miller, Partner of OLIN Studios, OLIN presented the new park concept, keeping faith with both the 2021 Programming Study and the continuing stakeholder engagement. The design provides for a green central lawn flanked by gardens as well as "bosques" framing the Korean War Memorial and a reimagined Southwest corner with a neighborhood grove and place for a possible new memorial. We estimate between 150 and 200 neighbors joined the March 6th Zoom presentation and many submitted questions as well as kudos! Next, OLIN will facilitate two additional steps in the project: a) engineering analysis of the new design and b) a preliminary cost estimate. Stay tuned for more updates!
